About This Site
Zheng Huangli computes the Chinese almanac, the lunar calendar, BaZi charts and Liu Yao readings from classical texts. Each day's favourable and unfavourable activities, spirits, day officers and Yellow or Black Path follow the Qing dynasty's Imperial Almanac (Xieji Bianfang Shu); lunar dates and solar terms are computed to the second from astronomical ephemerides; and every BaZi and Liu Yao statement names the classic it comes from.
Our principles
- Every conclusion has a source: every classical quotation on this site has been checked against the book, and anything added by this site is marked as compiled by this site.
- All results are computed by the program from the rules in the classics; the site calls no artificial intelligence while it runs.
- Privacy: birth details are not stored, and your Liu Yao question never leaves your browser. Privacy ›
- This site is for the study of traditional Chinese culture and is not advice for any decision.
Sources
The almanac follows the Imperial Almanac (Xieji Bianfang Shu): the text from the Siku Quanshu edition, the month-by-month tables from the scanned edition. Our results were checked page by page against 75 pages of those tables; where they disagree with the text, the text and the majority of table pages decide.
